SARAJEVO, Feb 2 (Hina) - The commander of the European Union Force(EUFOR) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, General Gian Marco Chiarini, said onThursday that ten years after the war the country was still swamped byillegal weapons and dangerous ammunition which posed a threat togeneral security.
SARAJEVO, Feb 2 (Hina) - The commander of the European Union Force (EUFOR) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, General Gian Marco Chiarini, said on Thursday that ten years after the war the country was still swamped by illegal weapons and dangerous ammunition which posed a threat to general security.

Speaking at his first news conference since he took up office last December, Chiarini said that numerous seizures of illegal weapons and ammunition in the past two months proved that this was still a major problem in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

In an operation carried out in mid-January, EUFOR troops discovered as much as three tonnes of weapons and ammunition in an illegal bunker in Bosanska Dubica, in the Serb entity, Chiarini said.
