RIJEKA, Jan 29 (Hina) - The "Eko Kvarner" environmental
association from Omisalj sent to the Croatian Government on Sunday a note
opposing the building of a terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) on the
northern Adriatic island of Krk. The association, however, said it
supported the building of such a terminal in the Adriatic.
The Government has announced that its commission for building gas
pipelines would soon discuss the building of the LNG terminal.
The Eko Kvarner association said it managed to gather materials which
systematically analyse all problems regarding the transport and use of LNG.
