Croatia, as an active member of ECENA, organised the session at the proposal of the European Commission and the ECENA secretariat after the start of its EU entry talks last October.
The session was presided by Carmen Falkenberg Ambrosio of the EC Directorate-General for the Environment, and Croatia's Minister of Environmental Protection, Zoning and Construction, Marina Matulovic Dropulic, submitted a report on the environment in Croatia and activities in the adoption of EU legislation in the area of environmental protection.
In a report on previous activities, the network stated that its member-countries had gained useful experience and advanced cooperation.
The member-countries stated that they were ready to promote the full application of environmental legislation.
One of the more important activities in the forthcoming period is the project "Peer Review", which is financed by the World Bank.
A commission is to visit Croatia in May this year as part of the project.
The ECENA member-countries will have the opportunity to participate in proposed clusters in line with their own interests, possibilities and degree of application of EU environmental legislation, the ministry said in the statement.
