The concert was attended by local government officials, including Mayor Zivko Kolega and County Prefect Ivo Grbic, several members of the national parliament, members of Gotovina's family, Roman Catholic Church dignitaries and the general's comrades in arms.
Gotovina is in the custody of the Hague tribunal awaiting trial for war crimes committed against Serb civilians in the general Knin area of central Croatia during and in the aftermath of the 1995 Operation Storm.
Operation Maslenica, launched on 22 January 1993, restored communication links between Croatia's north and south, which had been severed by Serb insurgents three years earlier.
