RIJEKA, Jan 4 (Hina) - Representatives of the northern Croatian
Adriatic city and county of Rijeka, the Italian Union and the Adult Education
Centre from Trieste signed a letter of intent in Rijeka on Wednesday for the
external reconstruction of a building housing the Italian "Dolac" Primary
School and the Italian Secondary School. The reconstruction work
costs KN6 million and will be covered by the city and county of Rijeka. The
interior decoration of the building cost KN15 million, which was provided by
the Italian government through the Italian Union and the Trieste Adult
Education Centre.
The two schools are attended by 400 students. The building is a
neo-Renaissance edifice designed in 1885 and listed as a protected cultural
heritage site.
