The increase in foreign investments is primarily the result of a strong growth of foreign direct investments in Croatia. Investments by Croatian companies abroad grew as well, reads the latest quarterly bulletin of the Croatian National Bank (HNB).
HNB analysts say that foreign companies invested EUR 1.2 billion in Croatia in the first three months, which is a 133% increase in relation to the first quarter of 2006. Investments by Croatian companies abroad rose from EUR 22 million in the first quarter of last year to EUR 85 million in this year's first quarter.
