Of the EUR 1.2 billion invested in this year's first quarter, 927.6 million was ownership investment, 81.6 million was retained profit and 198 million other forms of investment.
The highest amount, EUR 675.9 million, was invested in financial brokerage.
Banking was the sector in which the highest foreign investments were made over the past 15 years (about EUR 4.1 billion).
The Austrians were the most important investors in the first three months of this year, investing nearly EUR 1.1 billion, followed by the Dutch with 68.7 million, the French with 51.5 million and the Germans with 30.8 million.
The Austrians also led the way in the past 15 years, investing EUR 3.9 billion since 1993, followed by the Dutch with 2.6 billion, the Germans with 2.2 billion and the French with 1.2 billion.
Croatian companies' foreign direct investments abroad in this year's first three months stood at EUR 84.7 million and at 1.99 billion since 1993.
