ZAGREB, June 21 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Deputy Speaker Luka Bebic on Thursday met a delegation of the Association of Anti-Fascist Fighters of Croatia (SABH) on the occasion of Anti-Fascist Struggle Day, which is observed on June 22.

Bebic said that 22 June 1941, when the first partisan unit of the National Liberation Army of Croatia was formed in the Brezovica forest near Sisak, would be remembered as a symbol of the commitment, struggle and victory of the Croatian people over Fascism and Nazism.

He thanked all who took part in the fight against "the darkest and the most horrible ideologies in the history of humankind".

Bebic said that Croatia's commitment to anti-fascism is clearly stated in its Constitution.

He advocated continued education of students about the values of anti-fascism "in the fight against and victory over Fascism, Nazism, but also as opposed to Communist and other undemocratic, extremist, radical and retrograde ideologies."

He recalled that the parliament had entrusted the government with preparing a proposal to improve the living standards of World War II fighters and disabled veterans.

SABH president Vesna Culinovic Konstantinovic said she hoped that the living standards of WWII fighters would soon be the same as those of Homeland War soldiers.
