The vice-president of the HSLS club of deputies, Zlatko Kramaric, said the parliament should request an investigation into the allegations.
The Slovene daily "Delo" on Tuesday reported that the Slovene parliamentary commission for the supervision of secret services would hold a special session next Tuesday to discuss media reports that the intelligence agency SOVA had in 2004 secretly listened to phone conversations between Croatian PM Sanader and the then leader of the Slovene Opposition and incumbent Prime Minister, Janez Jansa. The commission is also expected to investigate claims by former Slovene prime minister Anton Rop that Sanader and Janza had arranged border incidents.
Commenting on the Feral Tribune weekly's decision to cease publication because of problems with the payment of its VAT debt, Kramaric said it would be inadmissible to see the paper close down due to "administrative obstacles".
