"This is our time, the beginning of our final race and victory," Pusic said to more than 2,200 deputies from 440 party branches in the "Vatroslav Lisinski" concert hall in Zagreb.
Addressing the eighth party convention, Cacic underlined the party's readiness to assume responsibility for Croatia, which he said was what set the HNS apart from other parties.
Cacic said he believed that the HNS would not be competing for the third place in the upcoming parliamentary elections, but win more votes than all parties competing for the third place together.
If the HNS wins the elections, it will equalise the pensions of pensioners who were sent into retirement before 1990 and those who were retired after 1990, on the basis of ten best paid years of service, as well as enable lawful employment of pensioners and war veterans, Cacic said.
In 2008 the party plans to launch projects of lifelong learning, single-shift classes in primary and secondary schools, free transportation for all students, favourable scholarships for students and non-repayable ones for doctoral degrees and target occupations.
Judges with the worst statistics will lose the right to conduct trials and corruption will be eradicated, Cacic said.
HNS deputies once again presented the party platform covering reform, protection of national interests, new national sovereignty based on a free market with clearly defined frameworks, equal opportunities for all, definition of clear privatisation rules and goals, and protection for the most vulnerable social categories.
