ZAGREB, June 5 (Hina) - Four Croatian emergency police will participate as observers in providing security at a G8 summit due to take place near Rostock later this week, the Croatian Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.
ZAGREB, June 5 (Hina) - Four Croatian emergency police will participate as observers in providing security at a G8 summit due to take place near Rostock later this week, the Croatian Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

The Croatian officers will not be in the front lines and will not face, as their 16,000 German colleagues, the 80,000 anti-globalisation protesters expected.

Last year, Croatian emergency police observed the security of Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Germany, the transport of nuclear waste and large protests in the Niedersachsen province.

Croatian and German police also cooperated at the World Soccer Championships during the Croatia-Japan match.
