ZAGREB, May 31 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament resumed a session on Thursday with a debate on changes to the law on the encouraging of the development of small entrepreneurship.

Deputies of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) praised the development in this sector and ascribed it to economic measures taken by the Ivo Sanader Cabinet, while Opposition MPs claimed that the proposed changes would bring nothing new in small enterprise.

Krunoslav Markovinovic said that the net consolidated profit of the Croatian economy was around 20.5 billion kuna, which was the highest amount in the last six years.

He added that the industry rose 7.5 percent from 2006 and the manufacturing industry by 9.7 percent. All of this is beneficial for the development of the small enterprise and the Croatian economy in general, he said.
