Rodríguez expressed satisfaction with progress made in bilateral relations and said that his country was glad to see Croatia's headway on the road towards the European Union, adding that he hoped that relations between the Union and Cuba would be fully normalised as soon as possible.
President Mesic agreed with the assessment on the favourable development of the Croatian-Cuban relations, and added that there were possibilities for making further progress in this field.
Mesic said that Cuba had become an increasingly attractive destination for Croatian holiday-makers.
The two officials also talked about possibilities for Mesic's visit to that Central American country.
Rodrigues conveyed best regards which Cuban President Fidel Castro sent to his Croatian counterpart.
The minister also informed Mesic about Castro's condition, saying that his health was improving.
