ZAGREB, May 7 (Hina) - Ten out of 20 candidates for the post of
general director of the national broadcaster HRT meet the necessary
requirements, the HRT Programmes Council decided on Monday. After a failed
election procedure in March, the Programmes Council is expected to elect a new
HRT general director in coming days. Four of the ten candidates
whose applications meet the necessary conditions are HRT employees - acting HRT
general director Vanja Sutlic, Nikola Kristic, Branimir Jezic and Tomislav
Radic.
Also short-listed were Andrea Feldman, Vjekoslav Krsnik, Mile Pesorda,
Darko Staklenac, Robert Heinrich and Davor Dusak.
The March election procedure failed because none of the candidates won
the necessary eight votes of Programmes Council members.
A decision on when the candidates will be interviewed and a new HRT
director elected is expected today.
