The Ivo Sanader cabinet on Friday sent to parliament a bill regulating the gas market and defining the role of the Ina company as the producer and supplier of gas for tariff buyers.
The bill envisages the gradual opening od the gas market: as of 1 August this year, all buyers, except households, would be given the status of tariff buyers. A year later this status would be granted to households.
The government sent into second parliamentary reading a bill regulating railway traffic safety.
Transport Minister Bozidar Kalmeta announced a national programme for the construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure. In next five years, 15 billion kuna are planned to be invested for this purpose.
The government also discussed a new veterinary act.
