OSIJEK, March 2 (Hina) - Croatia on Friday took over from Hungary a two-year rotating chairmanship of the Danube-Drava-Sava Euroregional Cooperation.

This international organisation of counties and cantons from countries in the basins of the three rivers was established in 1998 at an initiative of the cities: Osijek in Croatia, Tuzla in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Pecs in Hungary.

Currently, the organisation has 24 members.

This form of cooperation is deemed important for improving connections in the economy, culture, infrastructure and in ensuring the imporoved protection of ethnic minorities.
