"The objective legal analysis of the tragic war events in Bosnia has shown that the genocide was committed only inly Srebrenica and the Serbia and Montenegro are not responsible for either the execution or the preparation of this big crime or for encouraging it," read a statement issued by the Serbian Foreign Ministry.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest judicial body of the United Nations, ruled on Monday that the 1995 massacre of some 8,000 Bosnian Muslims at Srebrenica, eastern Bosnia, constituted genocide, but that Serbia was not responsible for the mass killings, foreign news agencies reported.
The statement also said that the fact that Serbia had neither supported no encouraged the crime in Srebrenica was more important than the fact that Serbia was not obliged to pay any damages to Bosnia. The ministry stressed, however, that those responsible for the Srebrenica massacre must be brought to justice.
