"Any attempt to reach a solution by getting around the United Nations Charter and Resolution 1244 on Kosovo makes it impossible to find a compromise and therefore a sustainable solution to Kosovo's future status," said Kostunica, adding that international documents guaranteed Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He reiterated that a compromise in Pristina-Belgrade negotiations, which began in the Austrian capital today, could be sought only in a high degree of autonomy for Kosovo within Serbia.
Parvanov, who also met Serbian President Boris Tadic, told the press that the plan for Kosovo presented by UN special envoy Martti Ahtisaari could provide a good foundation for the negotiations on Kosovo's future status.
