The FeNS, which gathers 498 Serbian NGOs, on Tuesday called on the national parliament and the heads of state and government, Boris Tadic and Vojislav Kostunica, to try "to regulate new regulations in the region in a peaceful fashion", according to a statement released by the FeNS.
"To protect Serbs in Kosovo and ensure their safety and security as well as their freedom and equality, and to protect religious, cultural and historical monuments rather than to try protect territory and emotions, must be Serbia's basic platform in the continuation of negotiations in Vienna," the statement reads.
The FeNs, that was established in 2003, announced a campaign aimed at intensifying dialogue with the civil society in Kosovo and vowed to help establish NGOs in Serb-populated municipalities in Kosovo so that the Serb community can independently protect its rights and interests.
The final round of negotiations on Kosovo is to be held in Vienna from 21 February to 10 March.
