ZAGREB, Feb 11 (Hina) - A delegation of the Croatian Defence
Ministry led by Minister Berislav Roncevic attended the three-day 43rd
international security conference in Munich which ended on Sunday with a debate
on security in the Middle East and threats posed by international terror, the
ministry said in a press release. The delegation met the
parliamentary state secretary at the German Defence Ministry, Christian
Schmidt.
Roncevic and Schmidt said they were satisfied with defence cooperation,
highlighting the participation of Croatian and German troops in the ISAF
mission to Afghanistan.
Roncevic recalled the Croatian parliament's decision to raise the
number of troops in Afghanistan to 200 this year and 300 in 2008, with the same
tasks, and of the government's decision to donate 1,000 Kalashnikovs and
300,000 pieces of ammunition to the Afghan army.
Roncevic thanked Germany for its support for Croatia's efforts to join
NATO and the European Union.
