MOSTAR, Feb 9 (Hina) - The Prosecutor's Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton in Bosnia-Herzegovina and indictee Josip Grbesa on Friday reached a settlement on his guilty plea for having fired a rocket from a hand-held rocket launcher
at a mosque in the outskirts of the southern city of Mostar.
MOSTAR, Feb 9 (Hina) - The Prosecutor's Office of
Herzegovina-Neretva Canton in Bosnia-Herzegovina and indictee Josip Grbesa on
Friday reached a settlement on his guilty plea for having fired a rocket from a
hand-held rocket launcher at a mosque in the outskirts of the southern city of
Mostar. During that attack on 10 October 2006, the mosque in
Jasenice was damaged.
According to the settlement, the Croat Grbesa, who pleaded guilty, will
be given a prison term of 18 months and terrorism charges will be dropped from
his indictment.
Grbesa is to be charged with causing ethnic, racial and religious
hatred and intolerance in the new indictment.
A local prosecutor said on Friday that it was now up to the
Mostar-based cantonal court to take a stand on the settlement.
