ZAGREB, Feb 8 (Hina) - The Croatian Cultural Council has condemned
the verdict of the Hague war crimes tribunal sentencing reporter Domagoj
Margetic to three months in prison and ordering him to pay a fine of 10,000
euros for disclosing the identity of protected witnesses in the trial of
Bosnian Croat general Tihomir Blaskic. "We urge all Croatian
reporters and media to boycott the Hague tribunal's chief prosecutor during her
current visit to Croatia and prove that they have not been pacified," the
Council said on Wednesday evening in a statement signed by its president Hrvoje
Hitrec.
The association "Only Croatia" said on Thursday that Margetic's
imprisonment was an "act of barbarianism and vengeance" resulting from
cooperation between the Croatian government and Del Ponte.
Margetic is secretary of the association "Only Croatia".
