ZAGREB, Jan 22 (Hina) - The Croatian Judges Association said on
Monday OSCE Mission to Croatia chief Jorge Fuentes's statement that the OSCE
expected the main hearing to be held and a verdict handed down in the
Norac-Ademi case this year was an unacceptable attempt at pressurising the
court and an attack on the independence of the judiciary. Fuentes
voiced the expectations of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in
Europe regarding the two Croatian generals accused of war crimes in an
interview with today's edition of the Jutarnji List newspaper.
The UHS said the statement was also inappropriate in terms of the
values that Fuentes and the OSCE publicly advocate.
"If he set about voicing his own expectations, it would have been at
least fair had he voiced them openly and completely," UHS president Djuro Sessa
said in a statement.
