ZAGREB, Feb 6 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks
met in Zagreb on Tuesday the newly appointed Rome-based Egyptian Ambassador to
Croatia, Ashraf Rashed, who said that his country highly appreciated Croatia's
role in the region as a factor of stability and security. The
ambassador said his country supported Croatia's speedy accession to the
European Union, the office of the Croatian Parliament Speaker said in a
statement.
Seks and Rashed agreed that there were no outstanding issues between
the two countries, but that there was still room for strengthening their
overall political and economic relations, as well as parliamentary
cooperation.
They also agreed on the need to establish Croatian-Egyptian friendship
groups in the two parliaments and appoint a resident Egyptian ambassador to
Croatia as soon as possible.
