BELGRADE, Jan 22 (Hina) - After counting 99 per cent of the ballots, Serbian election authorities on Tuesday evening largely confirmed the provisional results announced since Sunday. The only difference is that the Albanian national minority will have a representative in Serbia's new parliament.

According to the results released by the State Election Commission, the ultra-nationalist Serbian Radical Party (SRS) again won the

most seats, 81 of the 250, but would remain in opposition because of its inability to forge alliances. The strongest pro-European party, President Boris Tadic's DS with 65 seats, was expected to lead a government coalition of the so-called democratic bloc.

Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and the reformist G17 party, with 46 and 19 seats,

respectively, combined for 130 votes - enough for a sound majority.

The State Election Commission must declare the official and final election results by Thursday, 25 January. Serbia's new parliament must be constituted a month after that and the new government must be formed three months after that.

In case the government is not formed within the deadline, the parliament will call new elections.
