Serbians going to polls to elect new parliament

BELGRADE, Jan 21 (Hina) - Over 8,383 polling stations opened in Serbia at 0700 hrs Sunday for parliamentary elections and more than 6.6 million Serbian citizens are entitled to vote for a new 250-seat assembly.
BELGRADE, Jan 21 (Hina) - Over 8,383 polling stations opened in Serbia at 0700 hrs Sunday for parliamentary elections and more than 6.6 million Serbian citizens are entitled to vote for a new 250-seat assembly.

A total of 8,383 polling stations in Serbia and 57 abroad are to be closed at 2000 hrs Sunday.

First projections of the result are expected before midnight.

First unofficial results are expected to be published by the CeSID (Centre for Free Elections and Democracy) nongovernmental organisation at about 2200 hrs Sunday.

The state commission is to release the final official results until 25 January.

Candidates from 20 lists of political parties and coalitions are running in the election.
