The three officials were placed in custody for 48 hours. The Serbian government's office for Kosovo condemned the arrest in the strongest terms, demanding they be released and calling on the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe to react and enable Serbs and all citizens in Kosovo to vote in the election without fear or pressure.
The Srpska slate, which is supported by the Serbian government in the election, said the 48-hour custody "only testifies to the continued pressure ahead of the local election."
