It was organised as part of Intemodal, a project envisaging a model of intermodal transport for the development of the Adriatic region, which is being implemented in Dubrovnik County in southern Croatia by the local DUNEA regional development agency.
The project is part of an IPA programme of Adriatic cross-border cooperation and lasts until September 2015. It is worth EUR 2 million and involves three partners from Croatia, three from Italy and two from Albania.
It is aimed at increasing the mobility of tourists and the local population as well as relieving road transport in favour of sea and rail.
