She said this annual awareness-raising event would include programmes on cave protection, cave tours, eduction and art workshops, screenings, exhibitions, guided bat hunts and "bat adoption."
The Zagreb ZOO is marking Bat Night for the ninth consecutive year. It has invited visitors to come and learn how bats have become one of the most endangered species.
Bat Night is organised every August in more than 30 countries, in Europe and the rest of the world, which have signed an agreement on the protection of populations of bats to raise awareness of the importance and protection of these animals. There are more than 1,150 bat species and 177 are endangered.
