There are 22 national minorities registered in Croatia and 13 live in Lipovljani, which can serve as an example of co-existence, and the meeting is the ultimate contribution of national minorities to the joint cultural heritage, said Sisak-Moslavina County Prefect Marina Lovric Merzel.
The main event is scheduled for Saturday, when President Josipovic will officially open the meeting, organisers said.
Lipovljani municipal head Mario Ribar said the municipality has about 400 members of national minorities, making up 12 per cent of the population.
The event will feature Ruthenian, Macedonian, Czech, Hungarian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Slovak, Bosniak and Croatian folklore groups, craft fairs, an art colony, and a round table on the position and rights of national minorities after Croatia's European Union accession on July 1.
