ZAGREB, July 28
(Hina) - The Supreme Court has reduced prison
sentences given to a former director of the Croatian railway operator
HZ, Davorin Kobak, a former director of HZ's subsidiary Agit, Biserka
Robic, Robic's associate Andrija Saric and a former director of the
Serbian rail operator Zeljeznica Srbije, Vladimir Vasiljevic, who were
found guilty of syphoning money from HZ through the Agit company and
they were ordered to pay back illegally obtained funds in the amount
of 27.3 million kuna. According to unofficial reports, the Supreme
Court reduced each of their sentences by several months as it dropped
one of their charges, but it upheld the Zagreb County Court's decision
that the convicts must pay back 27.3 million kuna.
