ZAGREB, July 5
(Hina) - The anti-corruption office USKOK on Thursday
indicted former football officials Zeljko Siric and Stjepan Djedovic
for taking EUR 30,000 in bribes for "fair" refereeing for the Hajduk
club from Split, and Siric is also accused of taking EUR 15,000 per
season from a former secretary of the Karlovac football club, Neven
Sprajcer, to ensure "fair" refereeing.
Siric was a vice president of the Croatian Football Association and a referee, while Djedovic was a member of the Football Referees Commission.
USKOK indicted the three men after an eight-month investigation.
Siric and Djedovic were arrested last December and spent three months in custody. Sprajcer was behind bats two weeks less.
