Autor: half
MOSTAR, June 22 (Hina) - Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the construction of a section of the South Stream gas pipeline through Republika Srpska (RS), Bosnia and Herzegovina's Serb entity, during talks with RS President Milorad Dodik on the fringes of an economic forum in Saint Petersburg on Thursday, Bosnia's print media said on Friday, citing official sources.

Putin also said he expected the projects that had been launched to be pursued, primarily in oil drilling and production.

Dodik informed him about the hydroelectric potential of RS and the two officials talked about possible Russian investment in that as well as about the activities of Russia's Sberbank in RS.

Dodik held talks with Putin at a working lunch which was also attended by Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev, Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki, and Finish Finance Minister Jutta Urpilainen.

South Stream is an international project envisaging the construction of a transcontinental gas pipeline which should link Russian natural gas fields and Europe via the Black Sea.
