Union leaders accused the Social Democratic Party-led Federation government of not keeping its election promises of economic recovery and more resolute social policy measures that would protect workers' rights.
The protests of unionists employed in the economy were joined by unionists in the education, health care and police sectors. The latter said it was unacceptable that they were being asked to risk their lives for an average monthly pay of 350 euros.
