A total of 55,678 accounts are blocked as of this month, while 32,283 companies had at least one of their accounts blocked at the start of the year. The Central Bank said the number of companies with blocked accounts was on the rise and that the crisis was having an adverse effect on company liquidity.
The executive director of the Bosnian Serb entity's association of economists SWOT, Sasa Grabovac, said the intensified negative economic trends had shown the weaknesses of the domestic economy.
He said Bosnian companies should seek partners outside the European Union because of the escalating crisis there.
