The "State Building and the EU Experience" summit in Dubrovnik on July 6-7 will be hosted by the Croatian government and organised by the foreign ministry.
Prime ministers, foreign ministers and representatives of European and North American countries have been invited to attend, as have, for the first time, officials from South Mediterranean countries.
Pusic said the summit would address the effects of the accession process and post-conflict transition on state systems, state institutions and society in general. "That's why for the countries of Europe's southeast, as well as the southern Mediterranean, Croatia's experience can be very useful because it went through both segments, post-conflict state building and institution building, as part of its European Union accession process."
The summit will also discuss the European perspective as a generator of social and political change, and political and security challenges.
