Autor: vmic
SARAJEVO, April 16 (Hina) - Ceremonies were held in Trusina and Ahmici on Monday to commemorate Croat and Bosniak civilians and prisoners of war killed during Bosnia and Herzegovina's 1992-1995 war.

Bosnian Army troops killed 14 Croat civilians and four captured members of the Croat Defence Council (HVO) in Trusina (about 50 km southwest of Sarajevo) in April 1993. In Ahmici, central Bosnia, HVO soldiers killed 116 Bosniak civilians 19 years ago.

The ceremony in Trusina was attended by senior government officials headed by Prime Minister Vjekoslav Bevanda. Also present were the President of the Federation, the country's Bosniak-Croat entity, Zivko Budimir, and Vice-Presidents Svetozar Pudaric and Mirsad Kebo.

For the first time tribute was jointly paid by representatives of the associations of HVO and Bosnian Army generals, who laid wreaths at the monument commemorating the victims.

All the victims of this war deserve to be paid tribute and all the perpetrators should be brought to account, Budimir said in Trusina. He also attended the ceremony in Ahmici.

Six former Bosnian Army soldiers are on trial before the State Court in Sarajevo for the war crimes committed in Trusina.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague has sentenced Dario Kordic to 25 years in prison and Tihomir Blaskic to nine years for the war crimes committed in Ahmici.

Another four perpetrators have been found guilty and given prison terms ranging from 10 to 18 years.

A Bosnian court has sentenced Pasko Ljubicic to 10 years in prison for the war crimes in Ahmici.
