She'd better read my books than tell lies, Bildt wrote on his blog on Saturday, as quoted by French news agency AFP. He said that Hartmann was full of strong ideas as usual, but that it was her habit to ignore facts. He cited Hartmann's conflict with the tribunal which resulted in the UN court ordering her to pay 7,000 euros fine for contempt.
Hartmann was in Sarajevo on Friday, along with Bildt and many other international officials, to attend a ceremony commemorating the beginning of a 44-month siege of the city during which more than 11,000 of its residents had been killed by Bosnian Serb forces. She verbally attacked Bildt in the street, accusing him of defending Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic during the war.
Why did he come here today? He did nothing when he could have done something. When he could do something, he was saying that Milosevic was a nice guy, Hartmann said on camera after a brief scuffle with Bildt and his security in Sarajevo's Titova street.
