VITEZ/ZAGREB (Hina) - The first humanitarian convoy has arrived in Vitez
(Central Bosnia) today, reported a Hina correspondent from that town.
The Croatian civilian authorities in Vitez have issued a complaint to
the UNHCR because of the unjust delivery of the humanitarian aid, since
three trucks loaded with food have been dispatched to 1,500 Moslems
situated in the locations of Kruscica and Stari Vitez, whereas seven
trucks have been delivered to 30,000 Croats in Vitez.
UNHCR Spokeswoman Alemka Lisinski confirmed that the three trucks had
been dispatched to the area under the Moslem control, and seven trucks
to the area under the control of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO).
According to Ms. Lisinski, there are about 3,000 beneficiaries of
humanitarian aid in the Moslem-controlled area, whereas there are
about 15,000 beneficiaries of aid in the Vitez area that is under
control of the (HVO). Ms. Lisinski explained that UNHCR did not release
the number of the residents of those regions, but the number of
beneficiaries of humanitarian aid, that had been established by the
UNHCR in cooperation with the local authorities.
The gravely wounded could not been evacuated from the hospital in Nova
Bila today, reported the Hina correspondent.
