WASHINGTON, Dec 6, (Hina) - Bosnian ambassador to the United
States, Sven Alkalaj yesterday warned that the 'international
community had accepted a thoroughly ludicrous idea which would
allow the aggressor to continue the bloodshed until the end of the
conflict'.
Commenting on the NATO ministerial proposal in Brussels that
the war in Bosnia would only end at the negotiating table, rather
than with NATO action, Alkalaj said the international community was
mistaken in this - adding that such a proposal 'didn't work 50
years ago and it's not going to work now'.
"If the Contact Group and NATO seriously thinks that Bosnia
will stop defending itself, with whatever means regardless of how
meagre those means may be, they are wrong," Alkalaj said.
"The arms embargo has allowed genocide against the Bosnian
people, those who support and advocate the embargo are also
supporting and advocating genocide in Bosnia," he said.
