WASHINGTON, Nov 8 (Hina) - USA respected a ban on the arms
shipments to Bosnia-Herzegovina and did not contribute to providing
Bosnia-Herzegovina's Government with weapons, a spokeswoman for US
State Department, Christine Shelly, said last night.
Asked whether USA knew that the Bosnian government-led forces
got arms and whether USA had a hand in supplying the Bosnian troops
with weapons she responded that USA did not participate in the
arms shipments for the Bosnian Army, but had indications the it had
been better provided.
She said an open discussion was to be held on Tuesday on the
American proposed draft resolution on lifting the arms embargo.
Besides UN Security Council members all other UN member states
could join the discussion.
She declined to comment on alleged transfer of the arms for
Bosnian troops through Croatia.
