BUDAPEST, Nov 4, (Hina)- The Democratic Alliance of Croats from
Vojvodina today presented proposals for improving the position of
Croats in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and
Montenegro) at a meeting in Budapest of the CSCE working group on
human and minority rights.
Croat delegation leader Bela Tonkovic told HINA that the great
task before the CSCE and its member States was to persuade Belgrade
to start solving many problems in the human and minority rights
area, otherwise sanctions against Yugoslavia would not be lifted
and neither would it be recognised as an independent state.
In talks with delegations from the United States, Russia,
France and the EU, the Croat delegation emphasised that the CSCE
had to create mechanisms to guarantee the speedy and efficient
implementation of its decisions.
