SILAJDZIC ON LATE CROATIAN CURRENT AFFAIRS PROGRAM

ZAGREB, Nov 1, (Hina) - "Hans Koschnik is a man who has decided to make something out of Mostar and I'm sure he'll succeed, if we help," Bosnian Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic, said last night on a Croatian current affairs program discussing the first 100 days of European Administration in Mostar. Speaking of the implementation of the Washington Agreement (on the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and a confederation with Croatia), Silajdzic said Croatia and Bosnia had agreed to establish a commission which would oversee the implementation of the Agreement. The commission would be formed by German, Turkish and American ambassadors accredited in Bosnia. With regards to both sides at times accusing each other of failing to implement the Washington Agreement, Silajdzic said:"It's fortunate that we have a neutral, if I can use the word, friendly arbitrator which will point out both sides' imperfections and will look at the situation objectively." Speaking of the Bosnian Army's recent success, Silajdzic said that this was a 'message to the international community that it should allow us arm ourselves - not for war, but for peace'. "If we had weapons two years ago, today we'd have peace in this region," Silajdzic said. "The aggressor, unfortunately, understands no other language except force," he said. "Every third option helps the aggressor. This success (the Bosnian Army's) will bring the aggressor back to the discussion table on how we can reach a peaceful resolution."
