GENEVA, Oct 5 (Hina) - Serb-controlled areas in Bosnia and
Croatia's occupied territories (UNPA's) received more food aid than
the 400,000 refugees and displaced people staying in other parts of
Croatia, the Croatian Ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Miomir Zuzul
said.
Zuzul was speaking at an UNHCR Executive Committee session
chaired by Sadako Ogata.
He told the session that Croatia received only a small part of
a US $900 million aid UNHCR grant given to the area of former
Yugoslavia last year.
Serbia, condemned by the international community as the
aggressor against Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, was receiving
much more financial assistance for refugees than Croatia, Zuzul
said.
He said new waves of refugees from Bosnia-Herzegovina were
arriving in Croatia every day, particularly from Banja Luka,
Zenica, Tuzla and Sarajevo.
Croatia had signed all agreements on the return of refugees
from some countries and was expecting international financial
assistance for reconstruction and the process of repatriating
refugees and displaced people.
