ZAGREB, July 14 (Hina) - UNPROFOR spokesman Michael Williams told a
press conference in Zagreb on Thursday that UNPROFOR sympathized
with refugees and their desire to return to their homes so there
was no reason to block the UN headquarters in Zagreb and personnel
on the ground.
"On behalf of the UN Protection Force and the UN secretary-
general's special representative, Yasushi Akashi, we express hope
that a solution will be found for a quick, safe and dignified
return of refugees on the basis of relevant Security Council
resolutions, and in particular Resolution 815 which reaffirms that
the UNPAs are part of Croatia," Williams said.
Assistant spokesman Paul Risley said Croatian refugees today
continued blocking most of the UN check-points.
