SISAK, July 7 (Hina) - Croatian refugees in the villages of Novo
Pracno and Nebojan in Sisak County on Thursday continued blocking
the roads for UNPROFOR vehicles and personnel, allowing only
members of the EU Monitor Mission to pass through. In Moscenica,
they allowed a seriously ill member of the UN French Battalion to
be rushed to hospital in Zagreb.
Head of the local association of refugees Bozo Judas said that
UN peace-keepers were using byroads to avoid the roadblocks. He
said that "blue helmets" attempted to cross the Kupa river in a
rubber dinghy but were prevented by protesters.
Refugees are protesting at UNPROFOR's inefficiency to return
them to their homes in the UN-protected areas, de facto under Serb
occupation.
