ZAGREB, June 8 (Hina) - Health Minister Andrija Hebrang on
Wednesday offered his resignation to Prime Minister Nikica
Valentic, quoting a Constitutional Court ruling rescinding a
government decree on stabilisation measures in health care, namely
the articles dealing with salary coefficients of health care
employees.
"The ruling annuls one of the most important elements of the
health care stabilisation programme, which has so far been
successful. I consider the annulment of these salary coefficients
to be the final stage of a campaign mounted by certain circles
against stabilisation measures in health care," said Hebrang in a
letter to the Prime Minister.
"Since the basic elements of the reorganisation of the health
care system have been declared unconstitutional by the highest
judicial authority, I consider it my duty to take the
consequences," said Minister Hebrang.
