ZAGREB, June 8 (Hina) - Three bilateral agreements were signed
today in Zagreb between Rumania and Croatia in the presence of the
Rumanian and Croatian Prime Ministers, Nicolae Vacaroiu and Nikica
Valentic.
The contract on maritime transport was signed by ministers of
transport of the two countries Aurel Novac and Ivica Mudrinic, the
contract on investments between the Rumanian and Croatian
governments was concluded by minister of trade Cristian Ionescu and
minister of economy Nadan Vidosevic, and the contract on health co-
operation was signed by the ministers of health Iulian Mincu and
Andrija Hebrang.
"This visit paved the way for a close economic co-operation,"
said Valentic after signing of the contracts. He added that the
concrete co-operation was agreed between particular companies of
the two countries. Valentic also said that a Croatian government
delegation accepted the invitation to visit Rumania in September
with pleasure.
The Rumanian Prime Minister stressed that he hoped the agreed
good co-operation would be realized. Expressing his government's
wish for a grater part in negotiations on the resolution of the
situation in Croatia, Vacaroiu said that Rumania would do
everything in order that the existing borders of newly established
countries in this region are respected.
Representatives of the Rumanian and Croatian governments
supported proposals on establishing of joint commissions for some
economic fields and establishing of joint-ventures. The delegations
agreed that a contact group would be formed for making a contract
on free trade and strengthening of co-operation in the spheres of
science, culture and sport.
