ZAGREB, May 16 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Nikica Valentic
received on Monday afternoon the German Ambassador to Croatia,
Horst Weisel, at his request.
At the meeting Croatian Premier and his guest expressed hopes
that closer economic cooperation could be undertaken between
Croatia and Germany. Premier Valentic stressed that Croatia was
always interested in the possibilities for German financial and
technological assistance as well as in brisk trade between the two
countries. In this way Croatia's ties with the European Union (EU)
could become stronger, emphasized Prime Minister Valentic.
Croatian Premier informed the Ambassador Weisel of his recent
talks in Pretoria with German Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel at
which it had been reiterated that Croatia and Germany had developed
successful political cooperation.
