ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - The chairman of the Croatian Parliament,
Stjepan Mesic, received today a delegation of the Council of
Europe's standing conference on local and regional authorities, led
by the conference's executive secretary, Rinaldo Locatelli.
At their meeting the chairman Mesic spoke of the causes of the
Serb aggression against Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"If the Greater Serbia could be realized, it would be an
incentive for other aggressors to follow such methods of seizing
territories that belong to another countries," said Mesic adding
that "if the world does not think of honouring its word that
borders cannot be changed by force, it has to let Croats and
Moslems arm themselves."
The delegation of the standing conference on local and
regional authorities was also received today by the deputy chairman
of the Croatian parliament, Dr. Zarko Domljan. During their meeting
they discussed the electoral system and the structure of the local
self-government in Croatia.
